Our Aim

The Chiselers are dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the historic 1891 Tampa Bay Hotel, renamed Henry B. Plant Hall of The University of Tampa. This architectural masterpiece is one of the most captivating Victorian icons in the United States and the pride of Tampa. In its restoration by The Chiselers, all efforts shall be made to maintain the structure's historic character and aesthetic integrity so that this National Historic Landmark may ever illuminate a vibrant chapter in America's past.

Our Mission


The Chiselers are dedicated to the historic restoration of the 1891 Tampa Bay Hotel, one of the enduring symbols that defines us as a nation.  Restoration of this focal building of The University of Tampa shall be in accordance with The Tampa Bay Hotel (H. B. Plant Hall) Master Plan of 1996, revised 2001, and the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation of Historic Buildings.  It is also within the mission of The Chiselers to support the university scholarship program and library.
